Marley’s Treasure
Poughkeepsie Barnes and Noble to Host Children’s Author
January 13th, 2008
1pm

Gable Yerrid, author of Marley’s Treasure, will be at Barnes and Noble, Poughkeepsie on January 13th. He’ll be there at 1pm to read from the book and visit with children and parents.

Marley’s Treasure tells the tale of how Marley’s life changes when he discovers a great treasure. When Marley gives in to his first instinct and hides the treasure from everyone he knows, he discovers his happiness slipping away. Eventually, Marley’s friends help him realize one of the keys to being happy is sharing with one’s friends, and all ends well as he decides to share the treasure and his feelings with his friends.

Gable, now 20, wrote this book while still in high school for his new baby brother. When he was sixteen, Gable was involved in a tragic car accident that made him take stock of his life and his feelings. Through the months after the accident, Gable experienced a wide range of emotions and had to learn to share them with family and friends. Helping parents teach their children how to share through has become vitally important to him, with proceeds of the book going to The Marley Fund that will support a variety of children’s causes.

Come visit Gable and share in this heartfelt message!
